JAPAN NOW ("the App", "we", "us") is an AI travel companion for visitors to Japan, operated by Bronxville K.K. (business name: NEXERA LABS). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. By using the App you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

  • Account info — if you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name, email and a provider user ID to create your account. We never receive your password.
  • Location — only while you use the App, to show nearby places, deals, directions and disaster/earthquake alerts relevant to where you are. You can disable this in your device settings.
  • Usage data — basic, privacy-respecting analytics (screens viewed, deals tapped) to improve the App. We do not sell this data.
  • Content you enter — messages to the AI concierge, used to answer you.

How we use your information

  • Provide concierge answers, maps, recommendations and safety alerts.
  • Maintain your account and sync your trip across devices.
  • Improve features and fix problems.
  • Show relevant deals and, where applicable, partner/affiliate offers.

Sharing & third parties

We do not sell your personal data. We use a small number of service providers strictly to run the App: Google and Apple (sign-in), Google Maps (directions), and our AI provider (processing concierge messages). Some deals link to partner sites (e.g. travel/eSIM providers); from those links we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Those partners have their own privacy policies.

Disaster & earthquake alerts

JAPAN NOW surfaces public early-warning and safety information to help visitors. It is an independent product and is not affiliated with, or an official channel of, any government agency. Always follow official instructions in an emergency.

Data retention & security

We keep account data while your account is active and delete it on request. Sessions are stored in a signed, HTTP-only cookie. We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, though no method is 100% secure.

Your rights

You can access, correct or delete your data, and sign out at any time. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at the address below.

Children

JAPAN NOW is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy; we will revise the date above when we do.
